Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT) envisions a future where farmers widely adopt agroecological methods, enhancing their livelihoods, conserving the environment, and reducing pressure on natural resources. As a registered local organization, we collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, from farmers to government extension officers, creating an Innovation Platform that emphasizes dissemination, research, application, marketing, and networking. With our headquarters in Morogoro and operations across Tanzania, we are driven by various donor-funded projects.

We are on the lookout for a passionate consultant who can facilitate capacity-building training on cooperative governance for the cooperative boards and management under our key projects: Farmers and Pastoralist Collaboration Project, Uluguru Spice Project, and Dodoma Women in Agriculture and Business Initiative (DWABI II Project).

Consultancy Details:

• Title: Capacity Building Training on Cooperative Governance for Cooperative Boards and Its Management
• Projects: FPC II, USP II, and DWABI II
• Duration: 2 days
• Location: SAT Farmers Training Centre

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a detailed assessment to pinpoint training needs in cooperative governance.
• Design a training curriculum tailored to the identified needs.
• Facilitate training sessions on topics like cooperative principles, roles of board members, conflict resolution, and more.
• Offer guidance to participants for the effective application of governance principles.
• Evaluate the impact of the training and prepare a comprehensive report.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years in cooperative governance, preferably in agriculture.
• Profound knowledge of cooperative principles and governance best practices.
• Exceptional facilitation skills with a focus on adult learning methodologies.
• Prior experience in similar capacity-building programs.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Familiarity with the Tanzanian cooperative sector is a plus.

Deliverables:

• Training needs assessment report.
• Customized training materials and plan.
• Training sessions for cooperative boards and management.
• Pre- and post-training assessment results.
• A final training report with recommendations.
