AN INITIATIVE TO GROW THE TANZANIAN ORGANIC MARKET
Are you an entrepreneur in Tanzania that is passionate about bringing organic, traceable products to local markets? Do you dream of improving your products and strengthening your supply chains to improve your opportunities in the organic market?
If yes, then we have some exciting news for you! Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT), I Am Organic, and Kazi Yetu is pleased to launch Organic Now, a program that trains farmers and enterprises with theory and practice in areas including organic agriculture, organic certification, food safety, product development, packaging, labeling, branding, marketing, sales and more. The training sessions will be conducted by experts and will include guest speakers and exposure visits to inspiring enterprises in Dar es Salaam.

What does organic mean?
Organic is a natural system of farming and food production, keeping the environment, farmers, and producers healthy through zero use of chemicals and promoting natural biodiversity.
What are our criteria?
We will select entrepreneurs that have an existing brand and market presence. Entrepreneurs must be following organic principles or interested to move into full organic production
How long is the program and where is it located?
The training will be held in Morogoro and Dar es Salaam, periodically in 2022 and 2023. All travel and training expenses will be covered by the organizers
What is expected of the applicant during the program?
Commitment to the training program, full participation, and engagement after the program ends.
What is the outcome of the training?
All participants will receive a certificate of training. Those that show progress and potential are expected to experience an increase in market opportunities.
Which organic certification will be used?
The training is based on the East African Organic Product Standards (EAOPS). The EAOPS is suitable for trading within the East African Community and is as well a springboard to get prepared for certification suitable for EU and US Markets.
