GENERAL INSTRUCTION

Invitation

Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania invites bidders to submit innovative Expressions of Interest (EOI) together with résumé/CV, a brief inception report indicating how you intend to achieve the stated objectives, previous experience of strategic and business plan development (signed stamped copies of contracts and sample of developed business and strategic plan), proposed five day training program and financial budget detailing the costs for undertaking the assignment to meet the objective and outputs listed in the scope of services. Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT) through the Curriculum Implementation Support for Training Institutes (CISTI) project funded by Liechtenstein Development Service (LED) has set aside funds for Strategic and Business Plan Development Training for College Principals from both public and private Agricultural Training Institutes. Therefore, SAT is looking to work with a qualified trainer(s) to provide five days training.

Expected Deliverables

The following deliverables are expected from the facilitator/ Trainer

  1. Inception report indicating the detailed training methodologies, training contents, sources, five-day training program and training materials will be discussed and approved by SAT team before training starts;
  2. Carry out face-to-face training to trainees for 5 days;
  3. Comprehensive training report of the training assignment;
  4. Deliver notes which may be shared in soft or hard copy materials;
  5. An electronic copy of all training materials and contents including presentations, videos and other resource relevant materials on strategic and business plan such as articles, reports, manuals/compendiums and rich web links on strategic and business plan development
Qualifications and expertise
  • Excellent knowledge of strategic planning and business planning development; experience in organizational and change management an advantage
  • Good knowledge of the transparency field; understanding of natural resource governance an advantage;
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in research and business consultancy;
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, reporting and facilitation skills, including in multi-cultural settings;
  • Highly motivated and committed to the values of transparency and integrity;
  • Working experience with senior officials within the government and non-government organizations.
Proposed Modality of Payment

Upon signing the contract before the start of the assignment, the first instalment of 50% of the agreed sum amount will be paid and then 50% after finishing the entire assignment and handing over the report for the assignment.  For more information on the scope of the assignment download the TOR Here

Financial budget detailing the costs for undertaking the assignment to meet the objective and outputs
listed in the scope of services. Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT) through the Curriculum

and rich web links on entrepreneurship skills.
vi. Technical advice on entrepreneurship skills compendium development to SAT management
and the task team.
vii. Proof-reading of the draft compendium on Entrepreneurship once developed by the Task Team

Qualifications and expertise

• At least a master’s degree in the relevant field in the areas of entrepreneurship, business
plan development and agricultural marketing.
• At least three years professional hands-on experience in training of trainers on similar areas
of knowledge and skills regarding entrepreneurship
• Demonstrated experience and proven records in undertaking similar assignment.
• Have experience in the field of facilitation of training and especially entrepreneurship, marketing
and business plan development.
• Good administration and interpersonal skills
• Evidence of having undertaken similar assignments, at least 3 references of clients.
• Experience in developing learning and training manuals (compendium)
• Proficiency in adult-learning principles

Proposed Modality of Payment

Upon signing of the contract before the start of the assignment, a first instalment of 50% of
the agreed sum amount will be paid and then 50% after finishing the entire assignment and
handing over the report for the assignment.

Construction Supervisor

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, driven Construction Supervisor with construction experience. To ensure success, the ideal candidate should be comfortable splitting their hours between the office, on-site visits and engaging the communities.

The Construction Supervisor plans and oversees the construction site. They lead crews, ensure safety regulations and health codes are observed, and that work is completed on time. Construction supervisors handle various administrative duties, like developing contracts. They should be critical thinkers and have a sound subject knowledge of mathematics and physics to identify and solve construction problems. You must also possess a certain level of creativity in order to present innovative solutions and improvements to technical processes. The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate ideas, make recommendations, and negotiate project details with their team, subcontractors, and communities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, architecture or related field
  • Registration/Licensure as a Professional Engineer may be required.
  • A minimum of three years’ industry knowledge may be strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with design software, such as Autodesk, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MicroStation.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and design.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Leadership skills to effectively manage a diverse group of labor working on projects.
  • Ability to coordinate more than one project at a time.

Training Centre Administrator

Training Centre Administrator alias Hotel Manager

We are looking for an experienced Training Centre Administrator with experience in Hotel Management. As our Training Centre Administrator, you will oversee the daily operations of our Centre and provide strategic direction. You will plan and supervise the activities of an extensive and diverse workforce to ensure the smooth and profitable running of the trainings and the accommodation of trainees. The goal is to enhance customer dedication and expand our clientele by strengthening our Centre’s  reputation.

It is important for the Training Centre Administrator to be involved in all aspects of the Training Centre operations. You will plan logistics and food and be just as responsible for dealing with complaints as for strategizing and preparing reports. You will be a key person of reference for employees and trainees as well as external vendors. The Training Centre Administrator must be able to guide staff to work as a well-functioning team. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be a team player and an effective leader, able to set examples and foster a climate of cooperation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise work at all levels (receptionists, kitchen staff, maids, office employees etc.) and set clear objectives
  • Plan activities and allocate responsibilities to achieve the most efficient operating model
  • Manage budgets/expenses, analyze and interpret financial information
  • Develop and implement an intuitive and efficient marketing strategy to promote the Farmer Training Centre’s services
  • Communicate with customers when appropriate (welcome them in the facilities, address their complaints, find solutions to problems, offer information etc.)
  • Deal with maintenance issues, shortages in staff or equipment, renovations etc.
  • Collaborate with external parties such as suppliers, transport services, external trainers, event/conference planners etc.
  • Interview, hire, train and terminate staff
  • Monitor staff performance, ensuring the Training Centre is running well and guests are happy
  • Inspect facilities regularly and enforce strict compliance with cleanliness as well as health and safety standards
  • Support the farm manager in administrative tasks
  • Oversee and manage the stock

Requirements

  • Proven experience as Hotel Manager or relevant role
  • Fluency in Swahili and English
  • Understanding of all hotel management best practices and relevant laws and guidelines
  • Working knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of hotel management software (PMS) is an advantage
  • Excellent customer service skills as well as a business mindset
  • Demonstrable aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Reliable with an ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Outstanding leadership skills and a great attention to detail
  • Degree in Business Administration, Hotel/Hospitality Management or relevant field
