Attract Youth in Agriculture Camp

Is farming a lucrative business worth investing in for young people? Yes, of course, we say! Through a youths centred approach, this one week long course will train participants in sustainable agricultural practices and life skills and show how farming can be an attractive business for the youth. The course is designed to make young people enjoy their stay at the Farmer Training Centre through sports and games while gaining at the same time useful knowledge on farm enterprise development for improved livelihoods.

Skills you will acquire

There are various opportunities for income generation for youths. In this course we will train you on…

  • Establishment of vegetable gardens in rural and urban areas
  • Establishment of tree nurseries
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Saving and lending in groups
  • Soap making (liquid and bar soap)
  • Food processing and value addition
  • Useful life skills
  • Waste management
  • Sports and recreation

Course objectives

  • Participants are empowered to develop interest in farming as a business through horizontal level interaction facilitation and youth-friendly learning atmosphere
  • Participants improve their livelihood though developing and running profitable agroenterprises
  • Participants develop income opportunities through a range of trained entrepreneurship skills, e.g. value addition, soaps, tree nurseries, production of briquettes

Training Fee:TZS 250,000/= per participant, the fee is inclusive of training, materials, accommodation, meals at the centre and transport to and from the training centre (from Morogoro city).
